Arbanassi stands on a 400-meter high limestone plateau from the Lower Cretaceous period and stretches over some 6 kilometers in a northwest-southeast direction at an altitude of 400 meters. The arable land is 200 hectares; the pastureland is 600 hectares. The vegetation comprises shrubs and low-growing deciduous tree species that are typical of the foothills of mountains and afforested belts of pine trees. The climate is temperate continental. The mean annual temperature is lloC. The winters are bleak; the summers are dry and with cool wind; the weather in spring and autumn is mild. The 670 mm of rainfall is below the average that Bulgaria gets. The plateau is a meeting place of winds. Gray and light gray forest and stony soils predominate.
